Touring bikes for rent in Iceland

For touring the country we recommend the TREK Marlin mountain bike, or the TREK fx.

If you’re planning to cycle on gravel at all then you must choose TREK Marlin.

If you’re planning to cycle on paved surface the whole time, the fx bike may be a better choice.

Gravel bikes for rent – TREK ARL4/5 Checkpoint

This bike has 27 inch wheels which is most ideal for for longer rides on hard surface such as asphalt or concrete. It can take regular gravel roads too but is not suitable for mountain biking or rough gravel roads. It is possible to use this bike for touring with luggage. We currently have sizes 49, 54, 56, 58 and 61.

Touring/hybrid bikes for rent – TREK fx 1/2

This bike has fairly narrow tires on a 700 wheel rim. This is ideal for for longer rides on hard surface such as asphalt or concrete. It can take regular gravel roads when they are in good conditions but is absolutely not suitable for poor gravel roads, single tracks and mountain biking. This bike comes with a kick-stand and fenders and rear rack for panniers. Panniers, handlebar bag and frame packs are available on request.

Mountain bikes for rent – TREK Marlin 5/6/7 or similar

Our most popular bicycle for touring around the country, as well as for trails near the city. This bike has 27.5 inch wheels on the smallest sizes, and 29 inch wheels on medium, large and extra large frames. It has 10 cm fork shock absorber, hydraulic disc brakes. Our touring bikes come standard with a rear rack to hold two panniers. It has a kick-stand and fenders. Panniers, handlebar bag and frame packs are available on request. Lauf Seigla gravel bike is famous for its leaf front shocks which is an Icelandic invention. This bike has 27 inch wheels which is most ideal for longer rides on hard surface such as asphalt or concrete. It can take regular gravel roads too but is not suitable for mountain biking or rough gravel roads. It is possible to use this bike for bike packing. We currently have 3 x medium size, and 1 x large size in stock.
