THE BEST WAY TO EXPLORE REYKJAVIK
Caleb – June 2024
George is goated. What else is there to say? If you’re going to take a bike tour around Reykjavik (and you should) you would be a fool not to book with Reykjavik Bike Tours because George has that dawg in him. Cant recommend the man enough. Five stars, no notes.
Ana – September 2023
George is very nice and makes sure that you have everything you need to enjoy the ride, from a map to adequate gloves and helmet with light. The bike is in great shape and the ride around Reykjavik to Lake Ellidavatn was great fun. His tips for the tour were very useful and guaranteed that I enjoyed my ride.
Tim – August 2023 – 5*
George was our local Reykjavik guide for my group of 21 guests as part of a 14-day 4-star tour I am leading around Iceland.
Cannot sing his praises enough, knowledgeable without being boring and a fantastic fun and humorous style giving us a fun and great introduction to Reykjavik for 2.5 hours. Highly recommended.
Geoffrey – July 2023 – 5*
We went to the Volcano eruption by bike with Stefan. He took great care of us and we would thoroughly recommend him and his team. We had a great day although it was strenuous.
My sister and I visited Reykjavik earlier this month and since we were only in the city for a couple of days, we decided a bike tour would be a great way to cover a lot of ground. The shop was easy to find and we were greeted warmly by the staff. David was our guide and he was full of facts and humor! The ride was leisurely and we made multiple stops where David would share fun facts, history, and a few insider tips for the rest of our trip. He also made sure to continually ask if we had questions. The Trek bikes were in great shape. I highly recommend this tour!
WHAT A GREAT INTRODUCTION TO THE CITY
We are so impressed with George and the bike tour we got! We arrived in Iceland this morning and had a tour with him right after lunch. George was very knowledgeable about the history of this fabulous city and how to get around in it. We hit so many highlights and places that we would like to go back to and spend more time. It was a fairly laid back tour and the pace was excellent four our teen girls. Highly recommend George and his team at the bike shop. He was fun, full of energy and interesting to listen to. The bikes were in great condition which helped make the tour a success. So great! Thank you!
CLASSIC REYKJAVIK BIKE TOUR
I did the Classic Reykjavik tour with George as my tour guide and had an awesome experience! I booked this tour from the U.S. before arriving in country and did this the day after I arrived in Iceland before taking off for other parts of the country (which worked well). George had a great sense of humor, did a fantastic job of explaining historical details that I would not have uncovered on my own and made everyone on the tour feel comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested!
GREAT BIKE TOUR
Four of us from the US recently took Stefan’s bike tour of the city. Great way to stay awake and energized after a long flight, while also getting a great overview of Reykjavik up close. Stefan is friendly, well informed and ran a great tour with every detail handled. Led us to a great stop for lunch and off to our hotel at the end. Highly recommended if the bike tour of the city sounds interesting.
AWESOME TOUR
Reykjavík Bike tours took such good care of our family. My 7 yo didn’t feel comfortable in her own bike, so they gave us a tandem option. The staff carefully fitted her helmet and made sure our seats were the right height and comfort before we departed. They have is great tips on easy to navigate bike paths around Reykjavík. It was an awesome way to spend 4 hours!

II waited 52 years to visit Iceland but I made it in September 2012 and it was well worth the wait. It was everything I could have imagined, and more. The country was so clean, the people so friendly, the food so good, and the scenery was unique, a one off.
II spent ten days in the southern part of Iceland and would like to give a special mention to the following, as they made the holiday very special: Hotel Ork – Hveragerði, Hotel Klaustur – Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Hotel Smyrlabjörg – Höfn, and the most outstanding insight into Iceland was provided by Stefan of Classic Reykjavík Bike Tours, a must do tour…
Finally as the saying goes “you can leave Iceland, but Iceland will never leave you.”
See you in 2014…

Paul Kemp, Worcestershire, England
Dear Stefan,
Thank you for the excellent service you provided with respect to my recent Private Guided Tour of Iceland/Reykjavik. The ‘Golden Circle’ was superb and your geographical knowledge and awareness of environmental issues most informative. The photographic content more than exceeded my expectations. In addition the ‘Bike Tour’ of Reykjavik provided an insight into the history and development of Iceland. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Iceland and thank you for your time and effort in ensuring my weekend was such a success. Kind Regards Alan Tarry – Blackburn, UK.
Hi Stefan,
May we thank you for such a memorable 3 hours of fun, and you love and knowledge of the city will be forever in our minds. Many thanks for a very professional tour, which to us was special.
Paul & Claire Kemp – UK (Classic Reykjavik Bike Tour September 2012).
Hello Ursula and Stefan,
We did the Classic Reykjavik bike tour with you Friday 18 May 2012.
It was a magnificent experience and we enjoyed it very mutch. We had even bikes with our names on it; of course it was just luck that we have the same names as members of your family. It was also very nice to have Andri with us on the tour. Thank you again, Ursula, for the very interesting tour. We will tell al our friends when they come to Iceland that they have to do the biketour with your company.
Ann & Stefan – Westmalle, Belgium.
We had a wonderful time during our tour. We saw parts of Reykjavik that we probably would not have seen otherwise, and learned a great deal from Ursula during the tour. We’d recommend the tour to anyone visiting the city!
All the best, Tom & Brenda – Boston, MA
Ursula,
We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful bike tour of Reykavik. Your tour was both historically informative and very entertaining for all of us. Most of all, we want to thank you for providing a tour that catered to the children. They had a wonderful time interacting with David, feeding the ducks, stopping at the beach, and of course the famous Icelandic ice cream!
Thank you again for making our trip to Iceland a truly memorable experience.

Thank you Ursula for the special adventure that Reykjavik Bike Tours arranged for my wife and I during our long layover in Iceland. I would highly recommend that other people consider this if they are faced with an extended layover at the airport. A great ride and a wonderful lesson in Iceland and Reykjavik history are much better options than sitting at the airport for 5 or 6 hours. Our only regret is not being able to take advantage of your longer tours as I know we just scratched the surface in exploring your island. We hope to return.

Given the option of a sanitised car or coach and sensible clothes I would choose cycling every time as the only way to view the ‘Golden Circle’ in Iceland. You cannot beat this way to experience the stunning landscape and densley woven historical and mythical strands that compose the legacy of this most individual and eccentric country. It leaves you feeling ‘on top of the world’, panoramic sky, the big wide open, almost non-existant traffic. Sounds good? Well trust me it is courtesy of ‘Rejkajavik Bike Tours’

The two bike tours Matt & I took with you truly made our trip to Iceland. We can’t rave enough about them to all our family and friends. Stefan, we loved hearing all your stories and insight and knowledge of your home.
We finished our trip in Iceland with a “South Shore Adventure,” but unfortunately, while the scenery was beautiful, nothing compares to the intimate settings of your tours. The larger tour bus setting just wasn’t for us. While the tour guide was great nothing beats the warm, welcoming atmosphere of your tours.

Liebe Ursula und lieber Stefan. Wir bedanken uns für die wundervolle Fahrradtour durch Reykjavik. Wir haben es beide sehr genossen und viel Neues erfahren. Es war eine nette Gruppe und noch ein netterer Guide. Hello, everyone. I want to thank you for a terrific bike tour–very informative and a lot of fun. Edda was a wonderful guide, and I loved it when she spotted the Faroese men in their hats crossing the square and invited them forward and told us about the relationship between Icelandic and Faroese languages. This was the very best three hours of my two-day stay in Iceland and I will recommend it to anyone (young or old–I’m 64) who comes to Reykjavik and wants something more enjoyable than just a stodgy bus tour. Keep banging those pots and pans, Edda. Thanks so very much! – Bob Crossley, Boston, USA
My goodness was that the best tour we’ve ever taken! Stefan was born in Reykjavik and with seven degrees of higher learning under his belt, is very knowledgeable and obviously loves to share his country with new people. He took us all over the city, exploring areas of historical, pop, and gastronomical significance. We’d been worried after a morning exploring on our own that we’d have seen everything that Stefan would be showing us. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Stefan took us into some of the nooks and crannies of Reykjavik while giving us an entertaining glimpse into Icelandic history, culture, and politics. – Cubechick, TripAdvisor 10 July 2010.
